Peter Frampton closed out his Farewell Tour (which will most likely ACTUALLY be his Farewell Tour because of a degenerative muscle condition that he has) with a Beatles song. You may be wondering why, but once you hear which song it was it all makes sense: “While My Guitar Gently Weeps”. It was an emotional performance to say the least. It seems like he was playing as if he’d never get to play in front of a large audience again…which could, unfortunately, be the case. I’ve got the video below, which you should check out. Because he absolutely nailed it. The fact that he won’t be able to play the guitar anymore in a matter of years is a tragedy – the man is a legend! But we’ve still got his studio work, we’ve still got “Frampton Comes Alive!”, we’ve still got the Humble Pie material, and now we’ve got this performance. The quality isn’t amazing (I’m really hoping they’ll release this show on DVD/Blu-Ray at some point, or at least a CD) but the raw talent and emotion clearly comes through. Seriously, check it out.
