Eddie Van Halen has died.

Today we received the heartbreaking news that Eddie Van Halen, rock and roll legend and guitar virtuoso, has died at the age of 65. It’s terrible when anyone is taken from the world, but a lot of us felt that we knew Eddie intimately through his personality and his music, so the pain is like that of losing a close friend. His wife Janie, his son Wolfgang and his brother Alex were with him when he passed away. Eddie’s death was caused by the throat cancer he had been battling. Rest In Peace, Eddie – we all love you and we’ll all miss you.
