Police say both a 65-year-old father and his 22-year-old daughter, who were involved in a domestic dispute, were stabbed by a Culpeper man who decided to intervene.
Perry M. Wanzer, 43, has been charged with aggravated malicious wounding and is being held without bond, according to Sheriff Scott Jenkins.
The incident began with a hang-up 911 call shortly after 3 p.m. Tuesday from a residence near the eastern Culpeper County hamlet of Batna. When deputies arrived Wanzer had barricaded himself in his trailer and stood off officers for about 20 minutes before giving himself up.
Both the father and the daughter were airlifted to area hospitals with serious wounds, according to investigator Jason Romero.
It is unclear why Wanzer allegedly intervened in the father–daughter dispute.
The investigation is continuing.
